Dimensional Reframing升维心法

v2.0.1 · Canonical public release

An open philosophy of existence for the age of AI — addressing meaning, suffering, and action through entropy, time, self, emptiness, observation, and creation.

What is Dimensional Reframing?

Dimensional Reframing (升维心法) is a philosophical system about how finite beings understand suffering, loosen attachment, and re-engage with the world after seeing impermanence and non-self.

The core thesis:

In a world constituted by irreversible change and finitude, human suffering arises not only from loss, but also from a fixed self's claims over time, form, and possession. Dimensional reframing means seeing and loosening these claims, entering the openness of emptiness through observation, and returning to the world through non-possessive creation—留而不住 (liú ér bù zhù): engaged non-abiding.

INTERACTIVE THESIS

Experience

The homepage turns the philosophy into an instrument. A state begins on one axis, caught between A and B. Pointer, touch, or keyboard input introduces another degree of freedom: first a plane, then a field of relations, then a chosen trajectory whose trace gradually releases.

THE METHOD

Five Moves

  1. 01Finitude

Name the actual limits: time, body, resources, and irreversible loss.

  2. 02Claim

Locate yourself and take responsibility for the part that is yours.

  3. 03Observe

See emotion, time-sense, and selfhood as processes in relation.

  4. 04Open

Release an exhausted description without denying the facts it contained.

  5. 05Create

Choose a feasible successor, bear its cost, then release possession of the result.

THREE PUBLIC INSTRUMENTS

Civilization Trilogy

The individual method is tested at civilizational scale through three essays. Each article now includes a small interactive model that makes its central relationship inspectable while keeping its limits visible.

Evidence & boundaries

01Seven Canonical Principles

Seven Canonical Principles

The seven principles do not carry equal epistemic weight. They form a 1+2+2+1+1 structure — one ontological postulate, two empirical constraints, two cognitive hypotheses, one theorem, and one value choice — so that each principle's status matches the way it is justified. Bracketed codes are the canon's own tags: [A] postulate, [F] fact, [I] systemic inference, [H] open hypothesis, [V] value proposition.

  1. P01 · Process-Relation Principle [A]No concrete existent is an isolated, permanent, self-sufficient entity; each is a temporarily stabilized process within a network of relations.Does not entail that the world is unreal or that everything is a hallucination of consciousness. This is the system's only ontological postulate — accepting it means entering the system, rejecting it means standing outside it.
  2. P02 · Entropy-Limit Principle [F+I][F] Living things, as open systems, maintain local order through exchanges of energy and matter, with internal entropy production and entropy flow to the environment. [I] Every concrete biological carrier is therefore constrained by resources, wear, and boundaries.Does not equate entropy increase with evil, and does not derive ethics directly from physical law.
  3. P03 · Three-Layer Time Principle [F+H+I][F] Layer one, the physical arrow: many macroscopic spontaneous processes show an irreversible direction in the statistical sense. [H] Layer two, felt passage: the human sense of time passing involves perceptual, memorial, and predictive processing and cannot be equated with layer one. [I|P04] Layer three, narrative time: the self-model organizes events into an autobiographical structure of “my past / my future”; claims over time occur mainly here.Does not entail that time does not exist, that the future is fixed, that the block universe is proven, or that free will does not exist. Layer three is revisable; that does not make layer-one facts rewritable.
  4. P04 · Self-Model Principle [I+H]For human beings, experience depends on embodied processes, memory, and social relations; the continuous, independent, fixed “I” that owns all experience is a dynamic model formed by consciousness to integrate experience and action.Does not negate personhood, the body, trauma, or responsibility, and does not prove that a self can be uploaded. Same lineage as Metzinger's self-model theory but weaker in strength: the claim here is only that the self functions as a real working model, not that it is a permanent owner.
  5. P05 · Reflexive Observation Principle [I+H]Consciousness can take its own emotions, thoughts, sense of time, and self-model as objects of observation, shifting from being governed by experience to seeing how experience is generated.Does not entail a disembodied pure observer, absolute objectivity, or any hierarchy of persons. Observation is itself a process within the relational network; there is no standpoint outside it, and reflexive observation does not produce a second, higher self.
  6. P06 · Conditional Emptiness Openness Criterion [I|P01, P02]A bounded-domain working model. Declare the variable set V, the current state description C, and the resource and path constraints K. Only when at least one feasible successor state s′ satisfies K, differs from the current state on at least one value in V, and does not belong to the set of states contained in C, is “C has not exhausted the feasible successor states under K” recorded as openness — here, now, in this domain. This is an operational definition and a conditional inference; it does not derive from P01 or P02 that s′ necessarily exists. K can shrink through resource dissipation, path lock-in, and irreversible loss until no s′ satisfies the criterion. Openness does not mean progress, recovery, an unlimited future, or that any particular existent must persist. Loss can be final. Emptiness is not a zero-entropy space, a quantum vacuum, a cosmic energy field, a place of immortality, or a physical entity.
  7. P07 · Engaged Non-Abiding Principle [V]The practical orientation this system advocates is not escape from the finite world but creating order, relation, and meaning within it, bearing the consequences of action, while not letting identity, achievement, and ownership come to possess you in return.Does not read non-attachment as coldness, non-commitment, or irresponsibility, nor as an absolute morality derived from physics. Its recommending force comes from ARG-01's conditional justification plus the author's openly declared value choice — which exempts it from the Humean objection and requires it to remain permanently open to challenge at the level of values.
02Boundaries & Safety

Boundaries & Safety

The canon states its own scope. Applicable to thought and literary creation, essays, philosophical writing, courses, and worldbuilding. Not applicable to medical, psychological, legal, investment, business, or political high-stakes real-world decisions.

The charter's prohibitions, stated in the canon itself:

  • It does not claim to prove ultimate truths about time, consciousness, emptiness, or post-mortem existence.
  • Scientific facts, systemic inferences, open hypotheses, literary metaphors, and value propositions must be labelled separately.
  • It does not use terms like quantum, frequency, entropy, or information to lend scientific backing to unverifiable claims.
  • It does not establish spiritual hierarchies, guru worship, a single path, or promises of supernatural salvation.
  • It does not substitute for medicine, psychotherapy, religious faith, or crisis intervention.
  • Modes of consciousness describe only how experience and action are organized; they do not rank people as higher or lower.

Stop conditions. If current self-harm or suicidal ideation, plans, or intent appear, or you cannot ensure your own safety, stop the practice immediately, do not stay alone, and contact someone you trust, a professional crisis service, or local emergency services. Sustained panic, insomnia, derealization, memory disruption, marked impulsivity, or deteriorating function equally require stopping and seeking help.

03Structure

Structure

The canonical text (v2.0.1) is organized in seven volumes. The system's structure is not a stack of concepts but a traceable chain: P answers the basic relation between world and existence; D extends the principles to life and civilization; R converts propositions into bounded practice; S describes how consciousness relates to different situations; E supplies the value choices; C and X extend the individual model to civilization and AI.

  • Canon — P01–P07, in the 1+2+2+1+1 structure
  • ARG-01 — the primary argument on the two components of suffering and loosening: five premises, two conclusions, four rebuttals, and its conditions of application
  • Three bridges — B01 finitude, B02 conditional normativity, B03 scale metaphor: every cross-layer inference must pass an explicit bridge, and each bridge names the short circuit it forbids
  • Five practices — R01–R05, each with observable indicators, misuse risks, stop conditions, and a return-to-reality action
  • Craft grammar — dual-voice writing, the voice charter, seven motifs each paired with its boundary, and four downstream templates
  • Governance — derivative-work registration, three publication review gates, and the charter lock on major revisions
